Connie Denise Johnston Jones, of Dothan, passed away Sunday September 2, 2018 at her residence. She was 37.

The family will receive friends 6:30-7:30 pm Thursday September 6, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home. A private service will be held at a later date.

Connie was born December 21, 1980 in Dothan, AL and was a 1999 graduate of Northview High School. After high school, she attended Wallace Community College for cosmetology, but spent most of her career in health care services as a nurse. Connie was a very caring and loving person, taking care of others ahead of herself. She was a creative soul with an open mind and open heart. Her passion for music was a major influence on the musicians around her, especially her brother and husband. She was a song and a muse unto herself, always encouraging her daughter Layla’s natural born artistic talents. She nourished her family with love, and food, and generosity.

Survivors include her husband Chris Ryan Jones; her children, Layla Grace Johnston and Levi Ryan Jones; parents, Terry Johnston and Toni Brooks Johnston; siblings, Shannon Johnston, Cherie Johnston Willis, and Christopher Johnston (Cheri Carrington); niece and nephews, Kylie, Coby and Wesley Willis; mother-in-law, Brenda Jones; sisters-in-law, Melissa Edwards, Lisa Jones, and their five children.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Carl D Johnston and Jean Johnston; and her maternal grandparents, Gene Brooks and Hazel Brooks.
