NEWVILLE. . .Connie Rose Ethridge Hix, a resident of Henry County, between Tumbleton and Abbeville, died Monday night, December 18, 2017, in a Dothan hospital. She was 66.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 21, 2017, in the Union Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Ray S. Reiley and Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiaiting. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contibutions may be made to the Abbeville Fire & Rescue, P.O. Box 427, Abbeville, AL 36310.
Connie Rose Hix was born in Kentucky and lived in various locations while her father served in the military. She was the daughter of the late Quinn Ethridge and Minnie Lee Parker Ethridge. Connie Rose lived in the Abbeville area all her adult liftetime. She was a graduate of Abbeville High School and attended the University of Montevallo and Wallace Community College where she received a license as a Paramedic. Connie Rose retired from the City of Abbeville as a Paramedic with Abbeville Fire & Rescue. In earlier years, she was employed by the Sony Corporation in Dothan. Connie Rose was a member of the Union Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Ethridge and a sister, Cora Ann Long and her husband, David Long.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Jimmy Lee Hix; two daughters, Roxanna Faulk (Craig), LaGrange, GA; and Misty Hancock (Leland), Crane, Missouri; a son, Jim Wilton Hix (Angelica), Newville; a sister, Dinah Deaton (Bruce), Dothan; a sister-in-law, Cherie Ethridge, Dothan; six grandchildren, David Hancock (Frannie), Raven Faulk, Christian Fenley (Jesse), Parker Faulk, Jacob Hancock and Lanina Hix; six great-grandchildren.
