TUMBLETON COMMUNITY…..Cora V. Holland Bostick, a resident of the Tumbleton community of Henry County, died early Friday afternoon, November 4, 2011, in the emergency room of a Dothan hospital. She was 82.


           


Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 6, 2011, in the Balkum Cemetery with Reverend Tom Chestnut officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.


           


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 361767, Birmingham, AL 35236.


           


Mrs. Bostick was born and reared in the Camp Springs community of Henry County, daughter of the late George Porter Holland and Cora Vester Hasty Holland. She lived most of her adult lifetime in the Tumbleton community. Mrs. Bostick was a retired employee of Wal-Mart. In earlier years, she was employed as a bookkeeper with Henry County Livestock in Abbeville. Mrs. Bostick was a member of the Balkum Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Yarbrough F. Bostick and two brothers, Willie Holland and Thomas Holland.


           


Surviving relatives include a daughter, Jackie Riley and husband, Ronnie, Newville; a son, Derrell Bostick and wife, Virginia, Newville; two grandchildren, Lance Riley and Jamie Bostick and wife, Tracy; three great-grandchildren, Tristain James Bostick, Destiny Rose Bostick and Rayne Renee’ Bostick.
