WEBB, ALABAMA. . .Corine Kirkland Lane, of Webb, a sweet and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, died Monday afternoon, September 15, 2014, at her home. She was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 18, 2014, in the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church with Reverend Hugh D. Kirkland, Jr. officiating, and eulogies to be given by Jack Ready and Tim McArdle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302, or to the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, c/o Dawn Deese, 3393 Hunter Road, Columbia, AL 36319.
Mrs. Lane was a native of Henry County, daughter of the late Mellie Marion Kirkland and Ada E. Murphy Kirkland. She lived in Webb most of her lifetime where she was a lifelong member of the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Mrs. Lane was a retired employee of Wex-Tex Manufacturing Company in Ashford. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Laura Jones, Irene Ready, and Ola Olivia Laseter, and five brothers, Dewey Kirkland, W. M. Kirkland, Hubert Kirkland, Jelett Kirkland, and Edward Kirkland.
Surviving relatives include her husband of sixty-two years, Robert Lane, Webb; three daughters, Sherrie McArdle (Tim), Pekin, Illinois; Sandra Roberts (Bruce), Dothan; Shelia Brooks (Terry), Phenix City; six grandchildren, Jason McArdle (Julie), Amanda Waltemyer (Chad), Molly Shock (Travis), Drew Brooks (Zandria), Heather Brooks, and Danny Brooks; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Kirkland, Cottonwood; nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jason McArdle, Drew Brooks, Danny Brooks, Chad Waltemyer, Travis Shock, Roscoe Rabon, and Wayne Odom.
