CORINE NOWELL WOOD
HEADLAND. . .Corine Nowell Wood, a resident of Azalea Court Assisted Living, Headland, died early Sunday evening, May 13, 2012. She was 94.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in the Worship Center of the First Baptist Church of Headland with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. and Reverend Norman C. Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Headland, 301 East Church Street, Headland, AL. 36345.
Mrs. Wood was a lifelong resident of Headland, daughter of the late William Otho Nowell and Ruby Starling Nowell. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Headland. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband, Shelley Augustus Wood, a son-in-law, John Granger Danford, a sister, Anna Lois Treiber, and three brothers, Otis Nowell, Durwood Nowell and Buford Nowell.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Becky Danford-Lyon and husband, Benjamin Lyon, Dothan; two grandchildren, Brent Wood Bryan, Dothan; Leslie Bryan Liebetrau, Daytona Beach, FL; two great-grandchildren, Shelley Ann Liebetrau and Bryan Alan Liebetrau; two sisters, Wynell Douglas, Dothan; and Rotha Gailbreath, Orlando, FL; a brother, Larry Nowell and wife, Eugenia, Headland; sisters-in-law, Maureen Nowell, Headland; and Pat Nowell, Panama City; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Dr. Danny Nowell, Ronnie Nowell, Benny Nowell, Arnie Nowell, Dennis Douglas, John Solomon, Mike Vann, Benton Beasley and David Livingston.
