HALEBURG… Cornelia Stovall Davis, a resident of the Haleburg Community near Columbia, Alabama, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at her home. She was 94.
?Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 26, 2024 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Haleburg Community, with Reverend Dexter Grimsley officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M. at the church prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
?Mrs. Davis was born in Haleburg, Alabama to the late Eddie Stovall and Annie Dawson Stovall. She graduated from the Headland Training School. After graduating she became one of the school bus drivers. Mrs. Cornelia had retired as a manager from Publix. She had previously lived in Jacksonville, Florida; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Newark, New Jersey before returning to the Haleburg Community. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Alabama. She is a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Haleburg Community. She was an incredible pianist, an avid gardener and loved her flowers.
?Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Davis; her daughter, Cornett Alexander; her son, Darryl Alexander; her sisters; Trudie Powell, Jeannie Glenn, and Lucille Williams; and her brothers, Tucker Stovall, Orlando Stovall, and Herschel Stovall.
?Leaving to cherish her memories is her daughters, Voncier Alexander, Michelle Davis, and Brandy Carter; her sisters, Edie Stringer, Clara Stephen, and Frances McGowins; her brother, Archester Stovall; her grandchildren, and many friends.
