NEWVILLE…Cozette Brannon Killebrew, a resident of the Old Center Community, near Newville, died late Wednesday night, October 26, 2016, in St. Francis Hospital, Columbus, Georgia. She was 87.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, October 29, 2016, in the Old Center United Methodist Church with Reverend Anita Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Abbeville.
Mrs. Killebrew was born and reared in the Old Center Community of Henry County, daughter of the late J.D. Brannon and Lizzie Trawick Brannon. She lived in Montgomery for twenty years before returning to Henry County in 1973. Mrs. Killebrew was a member of the Old Center United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Killebrew, a son, Allen Killebrew, and three brothers, Hulen Brannon, Jerry Brannon and Joseph Brannon.
Surviving relatives include a son, Fain Killebrew, Columbus, GA; a daughter-in-law, Inith Crawford Killebrew, Newville; a sister, Mary Mims, Columbus, GA; sisters-in-law, Myra Nell Brannon and Judy Brannon, both of Abbeville; six grandchildren, Wendy Killebrew, Alli Slee (Tony), Michael Woodham, Bucky Killebrew (McKenzie), Faryn Hackett (Jacob), Zachary Killebrew; six great-grandchildren, Allyson Monday (Dustin), Ashleigh Worthington (Brandon), Kennedy Hackett, McKyla Killebrew, Maleigh Killebrew and Matalie Killebrew; two great-great-grandchildren, Riley Monday and Grant Worthington.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Bucky Killebrew, Zachary Killebrew, Jake Hackett, Chappy Trawick, Dusty Trawick and Corey Trawick.
