CSM Tonny Lynn Pridgen of Samson, AL passed away Monday, February 26, 2018. He was 54.
Memorial services will be Friday, March 02, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Chaplain Major Scotty Riggs officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive at the funeral home from 1 pm until 3 pm on Friday.
Tonny was born June 01, 1963 in Covington County, AL to the late Hamp Filmore and Georgia Thrower Pridgen. Command Sergeant Major Tonny L. Pridgen dedicated 37 years of his life to the United States Army and the Alabama Army National Guard. Upon completion of active duty service, Tonny and family returned to Samson, Alabama where he reenlisted in the Alabama Army National Guard. Tonny's career culminated with his selection to serve as the seventh Alabama State Command Sergeant Major in 2017. Tonny's true passion was to take care of Soldiers and he was able to accomplish this by serving as the President of the Alabama Enlisted National Guard Association. Tonny worked as paramedic at Fort Rucker, Alabama for 26 years. Tonny and Jan were blessed with 31 years of marriage. They have two beautiful daughters, Kelsey and Tori and one grandson, Andy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Diane Frederick.
He is survived by his Wife, Jan Pridgen of Samson, AL, two daughters; Kelsey Miller (Seth) of Dothan, Al and Tori McIntyre (Joe) of Samson, Al, one grandson; Andy Pridgen of Samson, one brother; Mark Pridgen(Janice) of Greenback, TN, one sister; Lisa Ann Jones (Tim) of Samson, AL, sisters-in-law; Cindy Russell (Steve) of Columbus, OH and Carla Wilson (Rodger) of Fostoria, OH, one brother-in-law; Jim Yates of Fostoria, OH, special nieces and nephews; Jody Pridgen (Megan) of Samson, AL, Sheri Seibert (Jon) of Chicago, IL, Brett Michael Wilson (Jenny) of Greenville, NC, Tammy Snyder (Dave) of Fostoria, OH, Brittany Deschler (Jason) and Drew Russell (Therese) all of Columbus, OH, Jarred Pridgen of Greenback, TN, Richard Frederick and Ryan Frederick both of Fostoria, OH; special cousins; the Aplin family and many others as well.
