Curtis Allen Gilbert

Curtis Allen Gilbert, a resident of Dothan, AL passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at his residence. He was 57.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 25, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Willis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to DCNR (Department of Conservation and Natural Resources), 64 North Union Street, Montgomery, AL 36104, or the American Cancer Society.

Curtis was born on December 5, 1964 in Dothan, Alabama and was a 1983 graduate of Northview High School. After high school, he was employed at Bruno’s, and was the youngest store manager at the age of 21. Curtis retired in 2018 from Mar-Jac Distribution as a sales manager. He was one of the most hands on people you would ever meet and enjoyed doing things himself. Curtis loved the outdoors and fishing and hunting were his passions. Curtis loved God, his family and everyone he met, he never met a stranger. He lived his life to the fullest and had many stories to tell about his adventures.

Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Gilbert.

Survivors include his wife, Shannon Stephenson Gilbert; his sons, Clay (Savannah) Gilbert, Connor Gilbert and Will (Ceaira) Hallman; his grandchildren, Hollyn Grace Gilbert, Olivia Hallman and Wade Hallman; his mother, Christine Gilbert; sisters, Christy (David) Spink, Connie Capaldo and Carla (Steve) Huett; and several nieces and nephews.
