CW3 Retired Philip J. Tinlin, of Enterprise, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022. He was 85.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2454 Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama with Reverend Chad Ingle officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Dothan, Alabama with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until the time of service.
Mr. Tinlin was born October 15, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan to the late James N. and Margaret Hoeflinger Tinlin. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Ozark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Jenkins, and sister-in-law, Nancy Jenkins. Mr. Tinlin was a retired pilot in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Christa Tinlin; daughters, Patricia Bylsma (Otto) of Daleville, Alabama, Sue Ann Jennings (Thomas) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Christa Jane Harvey (Robert) of Coffee Springs, Alabama; brother, John M. Jenkins of Daleville, Alabama; sister-in-law, Peggy Jenkins of Eagle, Michigan; four grandchildren, Mathew Jennings (Rachel), Amanda Austin (Bill), Emily Gasvoda (Tyler), and Andrew Wilson; and four great-grandchildren, Eli Jennings, Madeleine Jennings, Margaret Austin, and Bill Austin.
