CW3 Robert William “Bob” Jenkins (United States Army, Retired), 78, of Ozark, died July 30, 2016, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, August 4, 2016, from the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Ozark with Reverend Chad Ingle officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Full Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Wednesday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
CW3 Jenkins was born August 6, 1937 in Dallas, Texas to the late Joseph Leonard Jenkins and Johanna Wilhelmine Eda Schuster Jenkins. At a young age his family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1955 and attended basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. His duty assignments included Texas, France, Vietnam, Maryland, Korea, New Mexico, Germany and Alabama. He retired as a CW(3) at Fort Rucker, Alabama in 1981. Bob Married Joanne Senderhauf on June 30, 1962 in Hales Corner, Wisconsin and they had three children. He married Jane Senderhauf Jensen on August 7, 2010. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne Emily Senderhauf Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Senderhauf Jenkins of Ozark; one daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Reggie Leslie of Ozark; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Rainey Jenkins of Lafayette, Indiana, John and Jennifer Jenkins of Seoul, South Korea; two step-sons, Scott and Lina Jensen of Kessler Air Force Base, Shawn and Jennifer Jensen of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Charles Carda of Burnsville, Minnesota, Joan and Jim Warwick of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Jessica Leslie, Jacob Jenkins, Josh Jenkins, Jena Jenkins, and MaKenzye Jenkins; four step grandchildren, Landon Jensen, Ashlea Jensen, Tiffany Jensen, and Tyler Jensen; one step great grandson, Brenden Jensen. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2454 Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
