CW4 (Ret.) Thomas Samuel Ferguson, of Enterprise, AL, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Medical Center Enterprise.  He was 80.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Danny Sherrer officiating.  Burial with full military honors will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. until service time.


Mr. Ferguson served multiple tours as a pilot for the US Army in Vietnam, receiving an Oak Leaf cluster. He was also a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. Tom loved to fly helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. After his time in the military, he worked for many years as a safety inspector for the FAA. He was a musician, a local entrepreneur, a Mason, and a Shriner. He made many contributions to his community and was very active in local veterans’ organizations, serving as the commander of the local chapter of the DAV and was a previous commander of the local VFW post.


Survivors include his wife, Betty Ferguson, Enterprise, AL; two sons, Scott Ferguson, Enterprise, AL; Bobby Ferguson (Regina), Texas; daughter, Faith Heidecker (Benji), Huntsville, AL; four grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Beaulieu, St. Johnsbury, VT; Dotty Neslen, Friendsville, TN; brother, David Ferguson (Karen), San Diego, CA; several nieces and nephews; stepson, Chris Ward (Tammy), Rehobeth, AL.
