HOLMAN ABBEVILLE MORTUARY
DALE (PeeWee) Walker
SKIPPERVILLE. . .Dale (PeeWee) Walker, a resident of the Clopton Community in Dale County, died early Sunday evening, March 24, 2013, in a Dothan hospital. He was 48.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in the Clopton United Methodist Church with Reverend James E. Ward, Jr. and Reverend Kenneth Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the Clopton Cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Abbeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Hospital Foundation, “In memory of Roger Dale Walker, Jr.”, 16007th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233 or to the Clopton Cemetery Fund, c/o Thomas Waters, P.O. Box 366, Clopton, AL 36317.
Roger Dale (PeeWee) Walker, Jr. was a lifelong resident of Dale County, near Clopton. He was a 1983 graduate of G.W. Long High School in Skipperville and attended Troy University and the Alabama Aviation Campus in Ozark. PeeWee was retired, due to disability, as a truck driver. He attended the Clopton United Methodist Church was formerly affiliated with Shiloh Word Fellowship. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Dale Walker, Sr.
Surviving relatives include his son, Josh Walker, Skipperville; his mother, Eathel Trawick Walker Mason and step-father, Wesley Mason, Skipperville; a sister, Rena Walker Jones (Huey), Abbeville; a brother, Charles Walker (Bonnie), Skipperville; his special friend, Tammy Tolison, Skipperville; several nieces and nephews; an aunt, three uncles.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Ben Day, Danny Blankenship, Cliff Townsend, Tim Beverett, Tony Baxley, Tommy Cook, Charlie Day and Timothy Skidmore.
