CLIO…Damien White, a resident of Clio, passed away late Sunday evening, May 19, 2024. He was 12.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Calvary Church in Clio with Pastor Randy Adams and Reverend Artez Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Louisville. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday in the sanctuary of Calvary Church.
Damien was born April 23, 2012, and was a native of Clio. He was a 6th Grade student at Barbour County Intermediate School in Louisville where he was a exceptional and brilliant student with all A’s. Damien enjoyed sports, especially basketball and football, and had signed up to play football next year in Junior High School. Like all teenagers, he enjoyed playing his PS5 with the games Grand Theft Auto, Madden 24, and NBA 2K. Damien attended Calvary Church. At a young age, he was a leader, motivating others in school and being a bright star in his friend’s lives.
Surviving are his parents, Damien White, Sr. and Patrice Steward-White, Clio; four sisters, Meagan Steward, Casey White, Carlie White, all of Clio and Ceason White, Abbeville; maternal grandparents, Sharon (Roven) Steward, Louisville, Gus (Felicia) Jackson, Montgomery, and Greg Mayo, Clayton; maternal great-grandmother, Leila Bell Mayo, Clayton; paternal grandparents, Edward (Tewanda) Appling, Eufaula and Jackie White, Clayton; paternal great-grandparents, Essie Mae White and George White of Clayton; aunts and uncles, Dekedra Steward, Ashley Steward, Quanterio Whitaker, Nicholas Jackson, De’Aunjai Williams, De’Aunjanai, Yasmen (Jeremy) Haywood, Rashad White, Tamara Appling, and Chanice (Katherine) Riley, Diniesha Steward, Shalishia Steward; favorite cousin, Brendan Williams; best friends, Marcus Brown, Eden Hale, Trevor Smith, Dexter Rumph Jr., and Emmett Redding; a host of other cousins and friends.
