DOTHAN…Dan Thomas (Tommy) Trammell, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday afternoon, April 7, 2015, in the Medical Center Enterprise. He was 79.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 10, 2015, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend James Bell and Reverend Hosea Parker officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Smyrna Baptist Church, 1800 Huskey Road, Dothan, Alabama 36303.


            Mr. Trammell was born and reared in Abbeville, son of the late George Marvin Trammell and Mattie Burke Trammell. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. Mr. Trammell moved to Dothan in 1962 where he was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church. He retired from Solomon Chevrolet-Cadillac as an automobile mechanic and wrecker driver after fifty years employment. Mr. Trammell was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Trammell and Leland Trammell.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Martha Faye Bostick Trammell, Dothan; two daughters, Glenda Sharp (Ed), Dothan; and Diane Hudspeth (Greg), Headland; a son, Dewayne Trammell (Mary), Mooresville, NC; two brothers, Gerald Trammell, Shorterville; and Joe Trammell (Betty), Ocean Springs, MS; seven grandchildren, Ashley Andrews (Ryan), Jennifer Barboza (Jaime), Justin Feller, Corey Hudspeth, Thomas Hudspeth, Branson Andrews (Jessica), and Angie Brubaker (Mike); several great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dovie Bostick Ethridge, Enterprise; and several special friends.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Corey Hudspeth, Thomas Hudspeth, Justin Feller, Keith Trammell, Dr. Jim Bostick, and Jaime Barboza.
