Daniel Gene “Cobbie” Cobb, peacefully entered the presence of Jesus in his home on, Monday, November 4, 2024.
Gene was born to Albert and Roxie Cobb on July 26, 1949, in Dothan where he has lived his entire life.
Gene was a well-known and respected auto mechanic. He lived his life doing exactly what he loved: working on or restoring antique cars and sharing his love for Jesus with anyone who would listen. He met the love of his life, Evelyn, at the age of 21, and they were married for 53 years. He was a proud father of two girls and three grandchildren. Gene loved his church, Bethel Baptist, where he attended and served for over 45 years. Now that Gene is in the arms of our Lord, his physical life may be over, but his legacy and memory will live on through all the lives he touched.
Gene joins his parents, Albert and Roxie Cobb; his brothers, Rufus Cobb, Jessie Cobb, Allen Cobb, and Jim Cobb; his sisters, Ann Duke, Alma King, Edna Whidden, Lillie Haymon, and Johnnie Mae Cobb.
Gene is survived by his wife, Evelyn Cobb; his children, Crissy (Eddie) Dotson, and Tabitha Cobb; his grandchildren, Tyler Clark, Jacob Dotson, and Lizzie Dotson; a sister, Sarah (M.C.) Douglas; and several nieces and nephews.
