Daniel Lee “Tank” Mercer, 56, of Midland City, died Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Mike Whitman officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to service time.
Tank was born December 19, 1964 in Dothan, Alabama to David Morris and Brenda Sue Mercer. He was a graduate of Cottonwood High. He lived in Midland City for over 20 years. He was a firefighter and paramedic prior to his retirement after 25 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Tank is predeceased by his parents, Morris and Brenda Mercer.
He is survived by a daughter, Ashton Mercer (Brantley Taylor) of Midland City, a stepdaughter, Courtney Sawyer Smith (Brandon); Angie Davis Bryan, mother to Ashton; grandchildren, Elexa Holland, Lillian Smith, Braylynn Taylor; brothers and sisters, Raymond Mercer of Midland City, Mary Dekle (Don) of Ashford, Mark Mercer (Lisa) of Cottonwood, Benjamin Mercer (Jenny) of Franklin, TN and Matthew Mercer of Troy.
