DANIEL  MORGAN  CURETON




NEWVILLE, AL…..Daniel Morgan (Dan) Cureton, a resident of County Road 7, Newville, died early Wednesday night, December 7, 2011, in a Dothan hospital. He was 94.


           


Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 9, 2011, in the Old Center Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Glover officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Headland.


           


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Old Center Methodist Cemetery Fund, c/o Priscilla Trawick, 4852 County Road 7, Newville, AL 36353.


           


Mr. Cureton was born and reared in the Old Center Community, near Newville, son of the late Morgan P. Cureton and Mary Wood Cureton. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Cureton was formerly employed as a school bus driver with the Henry County Board of Education. In earlier years, he was engaged in farming. Mr. Cureton was preceded in death by five sisters, Susie Pearl Cureton, Hettie Harrison, Eneze Sumlar, Mittie Miller and Sally Smith and also two brothers, William Cureton and James W. (Jimmy) Cureton.


           


Surviving relatives include his wife, Juanita Nolin Cureton; two sons, David Cureton and Dennis Cureton; a sister-in-law, Bertha Cureton, all of Newville; numerous nieces and nephews.
