James Daniel Pynes, 47, a resident of Dothan passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Daniel was born July 18, 1969 in Houston County and resided in Dothan all of his life and graduated from Dothan High School in 1988. He was formerly employed with Porter's Exxon and Interstate Batteries and has worked with AirGas for the past 22 years holding the office of District Manager at the time of his death. Daniel enjoyed watching Saturday College Football with his son and family members, and especially liked cooking out for Alabama Football games. He also was a fan of Drag Racing and attended Wiregrass Church.

Survivors include his son, Aaron Pynes; his parents, Donald and Kathy Schulman; mother of their son, Helen Pynes; brothers, Jerome (Vi) Pynes and Shane (Megan) Schulman; sister, Brandi Smith; nieces and nephews, Taylor Schulman, Emma Schulman, Makenzie Schulman, Cade Smith, Chelsea Smith, Eden Peyer, Eli Dawson, Chase Pynes, and Ceara Parks; a special friend, Raven Tipton and her daughter Makayla O'Rourke; their furry companions, Baylee and Ellie.

Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Pynes, Donald Schulman, Jerome Pynes, Shane Schulman, Chris Hughes, Rick Cordle, Steve White, and R.J. Briddell.
