Danny Folds

Danny Folds, a resident of Midland City, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at his residence. He was 73 years old.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Midland City Cemetery with Pastor Ricky Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home from 5-7 pm on Monday, October 10, 2022. Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave., Dothan, AL 36303.

Danny was born on August 16, 1949 in Dale County and lived the early years of his life in Newton. He drove an 18-wheeler for over 25 years until his retirement in 1989 and enjoyed his retirement. In his spare time, Danny enjoyed fishing in Lake Eufaula and riding his motorcycle. He loved watching Western shows, MASH, but most of the time he would be found drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, by his two sons, Jody Folds and Donnie Folds, and by his three brothers, Lonnie Folds, Eddie Folds, and Pete Folds.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley Folds; his son, Earl (Chris) Folds; his six grandchildren, Angel (Ken) Thomas, Little Earl (Ashley) Folds, D. J. (Tanya) Folds, Matt (Brooke) Folds, Teddy (Katie) Folds, and Roxy (Tim) Lacy; many great-grandchildren; his brother, Levi (Wanda) Henderson; his sister, Tammy (Corey) Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.
