EDWIN COMMUNITY. . .Daphne Kaylee Wilson, a resident of the Edwin Community of Henry County, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015. She was 18.


            Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, November 7, 2015, in the First Baptist Church of Abbeville with Reverend Ryan Johnson and Reverend Tanner Ethridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Edwin Cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon Saturday in the First Baptist Church Family Life Building.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Abbeville “Youth Ministry”, P.O. Box 606, Abbeville, AL 36310.


            Kaylee Wilson was a lifelong resident of the Edwin Community. She was a 2015 graduate of the Abbeville Christian Academy where she served the school in various roles within her classes, as well as the Junior & Senior Beta Clubs, Foreign Language Club, Key Club, Prom Club, and the Student Government Association.  She also served as Co-Editor of her senior yearbook, “Capture the Memories”. As an honor graduate, Kaylee was awarded the Class Citizenship Award, Alabama Youth Leadership Award, and was a Girls State Delegate and also played basketball and was a cheerleader. Kaylee was currently attending Wallace Community College in Dothan to pursue a degree in Nursing. She was also employed by Flowers Hospital as a Patient Care Technician. Kaylee was actively involved in the Children’s, Youth, and Missions Ministries of the First Baptist Church of Abbeville.


            Surviving relatives include her parents, Derick and Kay Jenkins Wilson, a brother, Dillon Wilson, all of the Edwin Community; grandparents, Glenn and Martha Jenkins, Loretta Carroll, Bill Snell, Joe Frank and Linda Wilson; uncles and aunts, Boyd and Ginger Jenkins, Ann Margaret and John Arnold, Danny Wilson; a great-aunt, Isobel and Dick Tierney, and Pam Shelton, several cousins.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Caleb Flowers, Clay Murphy, Dee Jernigan, John Purcell, Thomas Cox, Nathan Volf, Ty Meader, Jacob Fleming, and Steve McLendon. The Class of 2015 and the faculty of Abbeville Christian Academy will serve as honorary pallbearers.
