Darlene Olson Schendel departed this life on May 5, 2021 at the age of 84. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 in Hartford City Cemetery with Rev. Tom Chesnut officiating and under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home.
Darlene was born in Litchfield, Minnesota to the late George and Ethel Olson, and grew up on the family farm, located by King Lake. That lake was such a fascination all year long. She was a first and second grade teacher for many years, teaching them to say "thank you", "excuse me", and "I'm sorry" along with math, reading, science and all school subjects. She loved to draw and paint landscapes, she enjoyed gardening, having at one time 30 to 40 hybrid tea roses.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane Schendel; and brother, Donald Olson.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Fulford of Hartford, Alabama; grandson, Troy (Tabitha) Enfinger and great grandson, Talon Enfinger of Spanish Fort, Alabama; grandson, Trey (Tina) Enfinger and great grandson, Tucker Enfinger of Hartford, Alabama; daughter, Debra (Phil) Klejeski of Braham, Minnesota; grandson, Brian (Samantha) Giffrow, great grandson, Brakkus Giffrow, and great granddaughter, Alayna Giffrow; step great grandchildren, Lydia, Logan, and Elizabeth all of Braham, Minnesota.
