Darren Rose, 42, of Dothan passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 10 am Monday, November 19, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Allie Freeman and Dr. Jerry Dooling officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery in Troy, AL with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Vaughn-Blumberg Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 669, Dothan, AL, 36302.

Mr. Rose was born June 9, 1970 in Birmingham, AL and moved to Dothan at an early age. He attended Dothan City Schools and for the past 20 years has attended Vaughn-Blumberg Center. Darren was the first resident of the Murphree-McGouirk group home.

Survivors include his parents Jim and Glenda Rose of Dothan; a sister Laura Rose (Danny) Kirkpatrick of Birmingham; several aunts and cousins also survive.

The family would like to express its deepest appreciation to the many members of the Dothan community who so greatly impacted Darren’s life in a positive way. Enormous thanks go to the staff and friends of Vaughn Blumberg Center who so greatly enriched Darren’s life for many years.
