ABBEVILLE. . .David Anthony Carter, a resident of Abbeville, died Monday afternoon, April 27, 2020, in a Montgomery hospital. He was 44.
In consideration of community health and public safety due to the COVID-19 Virus, funeral services for family and close friends will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 30, 2020, in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, near Eufaula, with Reverend Clyde Hancock, Jr. and Cliff Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. Following current COVID-19 guidelines, the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 130 Pleasant Hill Road, Eufaula, AL 36027.
David Carter was a lifelong resident of Abbeville and a 1994 graduate of Abbeville High School. He attended Wallace Community College Sparks Campus where he received an Electrical Technology Degree. David attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was formerly employed by Higgins Electric, Southern Plastics and Dorsey Trailers in electrical maintenance. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Irvin Carter, and his grandparents, Irvin and Fauvette Carter and Jerry and Betty Golden.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Kaleigh Carter, Headland; his parents, Irvin and Jerrilyn Golden Carter, Abbeville; aunts and uncles, Mary and Johnny Edison, Bobby Carter, Don and Connie Carter, Sue and Jimmy Sharpe, Anita Scoggins (Donnie), Jeff and Denise Golden, and Johnny Scoggins; several special cousins.
