ECHO COMMUNITY…David Dowling Snell, a resident of the Echo Community of Dale County, died early Wednesday morning, April 6, 2016, at his home. He was 62.


            Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 8, 2016 in the Living Water Church with Pastor Chris Brown officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held at 2:00 P.M. (EDT) Friday, in the Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. Friday in the church sanctuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the www.gofundme.com account for funeral expenses of David Dowling Snell.


            Mr. Snell was born and reared in Echo and was a 1971 graduate of the Dale County High School in Midland City. In earlier years, he served in the United States Air Force. He later retired from the Army National Guard with the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Snell was formerly employed by Columbus Consolidated Government. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Snell.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Brenda Tipler Snell, Echo Community; a son, Ezra Snell, Redlands, CA; a step-son, James Cornett, Daleville; his mother, Susie Bayne Snell, Midland City; a sister, Trish Chancey (Todd), Echo Community; a brother, Roger Snell (Louise), McHenry, MS; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
