During the younger years of David’s life, he was active in the church and school. He attended Carver high School in Dothan, AL. He later moved away from Dothan and obtained his master’s degree and began teaching in the Florida School System. David, carrying the noticeable handicap of Polio did not allow his condition to stop him. He was also a noted upholsterer and did wood repair and restoration. Mr. Lee’s favorite hobby as a young man was shooting pool. He was known to many as a master pool player.
David Lee joined in marriage at an early age and to that union he had one son Eric LaDon Lee whom he loved dearly. He often bragged about his son and his beautiful wife and his lovely grandchildren.
After his long fight with cancer, David Lee joined his mother Johnnie Mae Lee and his father John Lee who preceded him in death. David Lee is the first of seven children to transition. Mr. Lee leaves to cherish his memories his loving son, Pastor Eric (Tamekia) Lee of Montgomery, AL. Four brothers; Pastor John Lawrence Lee (Tallahassee, FL), Pastor James Richard (Robbie Nell) Lee Conway, SC., Donnie (Sharon) Lee Dothan, AL, and Joseph Lee, Myrtle Beach, SC.
