DAVID FRED WHATLEY
HEADLAND…David Fred Whatley, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away late Friday night, June 18, 2021, at a Dothan hospital. He was 58.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 21, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Headland, Alabama, with Pastor Evan Kohen officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Baptist Church in David’s honor.
David was born in Dothan, Alabama but lived most of his life in Headland, Alabama. He also lived in Scottsboro, Alabama for a short period. He received his cosmetology degree and had his own business for many years until retirement due to health. David was known for his work in pageants, proms, and weddings.
Preceding him in death was his father, Fred Wesley Whatley; his brother-in-law, Mark McKnight; his uncle, John Arthur Whatley; his aunts; Diana Herring Walker, Lorraine McLain Walker, and Tracy King Walker, and an uncle, Rex Walker.
Leaving to cherish his memories is his mother; Glenda Walker Whatley; his sisters, April McKnight and Kim Whatley both of Headland, AL; his nephew, Joshua Mark McKnight of Atlanta, GA; his aunts, Betty Jean Arnold (Wallace) and Carol Bailey (Curley); his uncles, Odell Walker, Tommy Walker, Harry Walker, Hasten Walker (Teresa) all of Headland; and a host of cousins.
