David Parmer Dozier, 82, of Midland City passed away Sunday May 21, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Skeen officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home Monday from 5pm-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, c/o Jeff Woodham, 1900 County Road 35, Ozark, AL 36360.

Mr. Dozier was born January 27, 1935 in Midland City and lived there most of his life. He served his country proudly in the Navy for 4 years. He was later employed with the Southern Company from 1976 until his retirement in 2004 from Farley Nuclear Plant. Mr. Dozier enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a very active member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeff Dozier.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, June Dozier; a son, Keith (Nancy) Dozier; daughters, Allison Dozier and Denise (Ricky) Willis; grandchildren, Davy Dozier, Cody Willis, Michelle Willis, and Michael Dozier.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Willis, Danny Dossett, Jimmy Rushin, James Palmer, Jeff Woodham, and Huey Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon "Bud" Willis, Hugh Shealey, and Olen Woodham.
