Deacon L.C. Bennett was born on February 3, 1930 to the late Dossie Water Woods and the late I.L. Bennett. Mr. Bennett departed his life on Friday, December 30, 2022.


A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 6, 2023 in Sunset Funeral Home.


Mr. Bennett was a resident of Ashford, Alabama with his loving wife of 65 years, Fannie Bennett. He was employed with the Houston County Sanitation Department for 27 years where he retired in 1995. He enjoyed going fishing and working in his garden.


Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his brother, Willie C. “Bo” Bennett; and stepson, Willie McGriff.


He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Fannie Bennett; eight children, Martha (Marvis) Anderson, Brenda Bennett, C.L. Bennett, Raymond Bennett, Rosie (BJ) Herring, Janice Coleman, Dorothy (Anthony) Ross and Jacquelyn Bennett; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nora Rodgers and Rosa Willis; and a host of nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends.
