Mrs. Dean Pollard Tyson of Enterprise passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015.  She was 87.


Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Richards and Reverend Phil Cooley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Home Free Will Baptist Cemetery in Black, AL with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Friday beginning at 1:00 and continuing until service time.


Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 4015 Highway 27, Enterprise, AL 36330.


Mrs. Tyson was born February 29, 1928, in Geneva, Alabama, to the late Jim Tom and Annie Mae Wood Pollard.  She was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she loved the Lord and served Him well.  Dean was greatly loved by her family and friends.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She loved to cook and sew, as well as to help her family and friends.  She retired from Warner’s and then Sony after a long career. 


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Tyson; a sister, Louise Brooks; a brother, Tony Pollard; and a grandson, Brent Dalrymple.


Survivors include a daughter, Ann Peters Dalrymple (Doug) of Enterprise, AL; a son, Max Tyson (Susan) of Dothan, AL; 3 sisters: Vonnie Pippin (Robert) of Sanford, FL, Loyce Kirkland of Dothan, AL, and JoAnn Strickland of Geneva, AL; a brother, Jimmy Pollard (Janelle) of Hartford, AL; sister-in-law, Paula Pollard of Hartford, AL; 6 grandchildren: Bret Dalrymple (Kim), Parrish Dalrymple (Holly), Melissa Kirkpatrick, Sherry Bullard, Angel Reigelsperger (Will), Ty Tyson (Rachel); great-grandchildren: Dalton, Dakota, Dylan, Jackson, and Will Dalrymple, Lynsey and Anniston Kirkpatrick, Jon and Jeremy Bullard, Britney Tyson, Chase Correll, Madison Correll, Trey Reigelsperger, Scarlet Tyson, Dawson Deacon, and Jorgia Tyson; several nieces and nephews.


The family wishes to thank Enterprise Health and Rehab, Deborah Hussey, all of the workers of Hall 7, as well as Dr. Rhyne for their compassionate care, and all of her friends who supported her.
