Deborah Diane Smith Tate of DeFuniak Springs, FL, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.  She was 64.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Ike Steverson and Rev. Donnie Murphy officiating.  Burial will follow at Reedy Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. 


Mrs. Tate was born in Jackson, Michigan on October 15, 1953, to the late Edward Clyde and Nina Mae Ehrig Smith.  She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Elijah "Bo Gator" Tate; daughter, Shala Tate Parker; and a brother, Lonnie Smith.


She is survived by her daughter, Barbra Bennett (Josh) of Niceville, FL; son, Shawn Tate (Kim) of Daleville; seven grandchildren, Ashdon Tate, Tyler Smith, Maycee Holmes, Gavin Tate, Garet Tate, Connor Bennett, and Caroline Bennett; two great-granddaughters, Rylee Smith and Adalynne Tate; four brothers, Eddie Smith, Billy Smith, Jake Smith, and Tony Smith; three sisters, Viney Scott, Vonda McDaniel, and Rosie Elmore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
