A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Littlefield and Rev. Thomas Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-2 pm.

Deborah Kaye McLendon, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at her residence. She was 70 years old.


A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Littlefield and Rev. Thomas Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-2 pm.


Deborah was born in Houston County and resided in Midland City the early part of her life. She lived in the Harper Joy Community for more than 20 years and was a 1972 graduate of Dale County High School. Deborah was employed with Denney Vision for several years before working with Eye Care Associates where she worked with Dr. William Feagin for more than 30 years until her retirement in 2020. Among many favorite pastimes, Deborah enjoyed eating at Mia’s Italian Restaurant and watching the movie “It Takes Two” with her family the most. Deborah had a true love for children and enjoyed being with her church family at Harper’s Joy Assembly of God Church.


Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Martha McLendon.


Survivors include her brother, Steve (Marolyn) McLendon; her sisters, Carla (Tommy) Sizemore and Teresa (Hilton) Riley; her nieces and nephews, Marc McLendon, Amanda Wright, Patsy Ott, Tommy Sizemore, Jr., Bobby Dean Riley, Steven Riley, and Darrell Riley, and Brooke Sizemore; and several great nieces and nephews also survive.
