Dee Dee Herring Trudeau, age 60, of Spartanburg, SC, formerly of Geneva, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 in Greenville, SC following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Geneva First United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Lisenby officiating. Burial will follow in the Geneva City Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Dee Dee was born on September 5, 1954 in Enterprise, AL to Hugh, Jr. and Dora Herring. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1972 and attended Auburn University and UAB. She had many diverse skills and worked in the areas of dental hygiene, real estate, and accounting. Dee Dee was an avid fan of Auburn University and Auburn Football. She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh, Jr. and Dora Herring, paternal grandparents Hugh, Sr. and Myrtle Herring, maternal grandparents James Theo and Arcola Knight, and a special aunt, Doris Pauline Herring.
Dee Dee is survived by her husband Robert C. Trudeau of Spartanburg, SC; children Ashley (Robin) Powell of Chancellor, AL, Rachel (Jason) Reinsdorf of Farmingdale, NJ, Bo (Angel) Trudeau of Jacksonville, FL, Robin (Paul) McClure of Jackson, NJ, Raymond Trudeau of Mt Pleasant, SC and Randy Trudeau of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren Auston Walden and Ethan, Ashley, and Emily Powell of Chancellor, AL, Alex and Cole Reinsdorf of Farmingdale, NJ, Elena Trudeau of Jacksonville, FL, Kathryn Causey and Dylan McClure of Jackson, NJ, Finnley Trudeau of Spartanburg, SC and Elle Lashua of Gig Harbor, Washington; sister Linda (Jim) McLain of Edisto Island, SC, brother Steve Herring of Geneva and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Bill Ammons, Eddie Averett, Don Crutchfield, Charlie Fleming, Don Hallford, Dennis Huggins, Fred Fleming and Bobby Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers will be the Geneva High School Class of 1972.
