Delbert Ray “Bud” Bishop of Hartford passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at his residence. He was 74 years old.


In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the New Prospect Church of Hartford building fund.


Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Hartford City Cemetery with Bro. Mitchell Boyd officiating and Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Hartford.


Mr. Bishop was born October 25, 1938 in Roadhouse, IL to the late Lester and Elnora Gillis Bishop.  He proudly served in the U S Army for 20 years. After retiring in 1977, he drove a semi-truck for FW Woolworth for 13 years and then drove for Russell Stover for 7 years. He then owned and operated a flea market and antique shop in Abilene, KS.


In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Henson.


Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Kay Bishop of Hartford; two sons, Dennis Bishop (Conni) and Rick Bishop and his fiancé, Amy; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers Clarence Bishop and Lester Bishop; several other extended family members and friends.
