Delores Amelia “Amy” Logan of Samson passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 due to injuries from an automobile accident. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Phil Craddock officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Samson First United Methodist Church, for benefit of Walking the 12 Steps with Jesus Christ, 204 W. Main St., Samson, AL 36477.
Amy was born in Geneva, Ala. on February 5, 1964. She had a great big heart and showed a lot of love for everyone. She had a particularly soft spot for the homeless, for whom she volunteered much of her time. Amy really had a great sense of humor, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her father, John B. Logan, Jr. of Samson; mother, Jean Nelson Logan Shearer of Plains, Ga.; step-mother, Karen Logan of Samson; three brothers, John B. Logan, III of Enterprise, Nelson Logan (Sherry Kyle) of Cumming, Ga. and Walt Logan of Samson; sister, Gladys Elisabeth “Lisa” Logan Rich (James Allen) of Athens, Ala.; two nephews, Edward Logan Rich, William Nelson Logan; four nieces, Mary Elizabeth Rich Dotson, Mallory Katherine Rich, Savannah Rilee Logan, Olivia Grace Logan.
