Delores Driver, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, at the age of 82. Born on July 2, 1941, in Hartford, Alabama Delores's life was a testament to the joy and warmth she brought to those around her.
A memorial service will be held at 2PM Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Brother Tim Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Angel House. https://wiregrassangelhouse.org/
Delores was a cherished member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church, where her faith and community spirit shone brightly. Delores found solace and joy in her garden, tending to her plants with the same care and attention she gave to her loved ones. Her hands, skilled in the art of crochet, created countless treasures that warmed the homes and hearts of those fortunate enough to receive them. Delores's beloved cat, Gracie, was a constant companion, and together they enjoyed the simple pleasures of a sunny spot in the garden or a cozy corner at home.
Delores was predeceased by her parents, Candler Martin and Doris Green Martin. A son, Jeffrey Driver, and her sister Sandra Johnson. Her legacy continues through her loving family: Daughters Melanie Williams (Mark) and Allison Driver; Son Jason Driver; Sister; Patricia Carter (Bob) Grandchildren Kandyce Turner (Damien), Marci Schoenbein (Tim) Jonathan Everett, Gabrielle Robertson, Devin Driver, and Mckenzie Driver; and several adored great-grandchildren.
Delores's life was marked by an unwavering kindness and a loving nature that endeared her to all. Her gentle spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten. As we bid farewell to Delores, we celebrate a life well-lived full of moments that touched and enriched the lives of many. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared, the gardens grown, and the music played, all reflecting the beauty of the life she led.
