Dennis Gene Hendrix, 67, a resident of Abbeville, passed away on December 7, 2023, in Eufaula.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Glover Funeral Home with his brother, Steve Hendrix officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Dennis was born July 28, 1956, in Lansthule, Germany to Lowell Gene Hendrix and Joyce Ann (Brannon) Collins. He grew up in a military family and resided in various locations during his childhood. Dennis worked as a contractor in the construction business for many years. He was a member of Judson Baptist Church.

He is predeceased by his father.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Ann and Willie Collins of Dothan; three sons, Colin Hendrix of Atlanta, Georgia, Matthew Hendrix (Chelsey) of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Joseph Hendrix of Panama City, Florida; a daughter, Farrah Bailey (Brandon) of Ft. Worth, Texas; a brother, Steve Hendrix (LaDonna) of Auburn; two sisters, Sheila Poe (Tony) of Eufaula and Tammy Loyed (Gary) of Dothan; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; his step-mother, May Hendrix of Dothan.
