Dennis George Snell, of Ashford, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain Kathy Stumbaugh officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Snell was born December 15, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois to Howard Charles and Julia Veverka Snell and lived the early years of his life in Chicago. Following graduation, he served in the U. S. Navy. He then began a career with United Airlines which spanned 40 years. During his career, he and his family resided in Chicago, Mobile and Huntsville before moving to Ashford 20 years ago. Mr. Snell enjoyed fishing and loved to play golf. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is predeceased by his parents, 4 sisters, and 4 brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary E. Snell of Ashford; four sons, Buddy Snell (Cynthia) of Ardmore, Tennessee, David Snell (Missy) of Everette, Washington, Phillip Snell (Pauline) of Cocoa, Florida, and Earnie Snell of Minnesota; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
