Mr. Dennis McDougald of Troy, Alabama formerly of Geneva passed away Monday, November 28, 2011.  He was 57.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Phillip Barnes officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time.

 

Dennis was born September 13, 1954, in Chickasaw, Alabama.  He was a 1972 graduate of Geneva High School and later received a teaching degree from Troy State University.  Dennis retired from Highland Home and Pike County Liberal Arts School.  He was a very loving son, husband, father, brother and “Papa”.

 

His father, Harlan McDougald, preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his wife, Ann Barley McDougald, Troy; one daughter, LeeAnn Davis (Steve), Dothan; one son, Clayton Dennis McDougald (Celiese), Troy; mother, Frances Howell McDougald, Geneva; granddaughter, Katelyn Davis, Dothan; one sister, Diane McDougald, Geneva; other extended family and friends.
