DEVON “D.J.” JOHNSON
HEADLAND…Devon “D.J.” Johnson, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 31, 2021, at his home. He was 30.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Reverend Tom Chestnut officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, between Headland and Columbia. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. before the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
D.J. was born in Dothan, Alabama but lived his entire life in Headland, Alabama. He was a 2010 Graduate of Headland High School. He worked at the family business, Johnson Tree Service. He was a member of the Emmaus Community. He was a member of the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death is his grandfather, James Rudolph Johnson.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Kelly Johnson; his father and step-mother, Terry Johnson (Misty); his mother and step-father, Tina Abbott Chandler (Jody); his children, Kolton Woodruff and Brantley Woodruff; his sister, Haley Johnson; his brother, Curtis Peters; his paternal grandmother, Ann Gamble Johnson; his maternal grandmother, Dean Hinshaw; his uncles, Michael Johnson (Melissa) and Allen Johnson (Linda); his aunts and uncles from the Abbott family; a niece, Cori Peters; and several cousins.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Curtis Peters, Russ Gilley, Gary Pollard, Robert Mitchell, Jordan Lewis, Travis Thompson, and Troy Thompson.
