Dewayne was born in Chipley, Florida, on August 14,1961, to the late Lonnie and Marie (Adams) Morris. Dewayne was easy to love and hard to forget. He taught people how to pray. He taught people how to love. He taught people how to forgive. You would always find Dewayne on the elder team at his church, teaching Sunday School, driving the church van, and making sure people who needed a ride to church got there every Sunday. He was a faithful and dedicated employee of Alabama Power for 41 years and considered all of his coworkers family. He loved it so much, he never retired!
Dewayne Morris was a true man of God. He had the spiritual gifts of compassion and encouragement, gifts given to him by the Holy Spirit by virtue of his relationship with Jesus Christ by faith in Him. His love for Jesus flows through his family. Sandi, his wife of 41 years, and their children, Chris, Jason, and Michael, are thankful for the love and life lessons he so patiently showed them every day, and his daughters-in-law all adored him and appreciated the love of Jesus that he poured into each of them and his boys. His grandchildren were his world and they loved him so very much.
