Diana Lynn Wood, 69, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Flowers Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Wilmore officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Dothan Miracle League, 2464 West Main St, Suite 1, Dothan, AL 36301.

Ms. Wood was born on January 13, 1947 in Dale County and lived in the Brown's Cross Roads community the early years of her life. She attended Echo High School and was employed with General Cigar for over 15 years. Ms. Wood later worked with Denton Road United Methodist Church Child Development Center for over 20 years until her retirement. She selflessly cared for and loved her son and her family, who were her life.

Ms. Wood was preceded in death by her parents, K.T. Walker and Adell Walker, 2 sisters, Betty Jean Walker and Carolyn Mills.

Survivors include her son, Darren Wood; her daughter, LaDonna (Paige) Thompson; the father of her children, Leroy Wood; 5 grandchildren, Caleb Smothers, Aaron Smothers, Adam Smothers, Hannah Brooke Smothers and Tray Thompson; her 2 nieces, Amanda (David) Hughins and Rhonda (Rex) Andrews; her great nieces and nephews, Caraline Hughins, Easton Hughins, Meg Andrews, Rex Allen Andrews, and Avery Andrews.

Serving as acting pallbearers will be Caleb Smothers, Aaron Smothers, Adam Smothers, Rex Andrews, Paige Thompson, Ben Moore, and Tray Thompson. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Darren Wood.
