Diann King of Dothan, a special heavenly angel departed this earth answering a call by God on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the age of 70.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, August 2, 2024 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 2, 2024, one hour prior to the service.
Diann is the daughter of the late Eddie Milton and Queen Ester King. She was the 8th child of a union of 9 children.
Diann was cared for by her sister Ella Lou who referred to Diann as “Sister.” When you heard Lou call her, Diann would respond WHAT? WANT? while tilting her head and wanting you to respond. She controlled her world. She lived a life sharing hugs, laughter, smiles, and gentle kindness that captured everyone’s heart. Her favorite hobbies were writing, threading beads, coloring, listening to music on the radio, and cartoons. She shared the best of herself when she dressed up for church. She had such a sense of pride and a broad smile. On the flip side, she would set you straight if you made her mad.
She leaves to mourn: Mandy Lou Smith (Willie James) of Dothan, AL., Milton Jr. King – Cathy of Dothan, AL., James Edward King (Aleta) of Quincy, FL., Ella Lou Sistrunk (Harry) of Dothan, AL., Carl Kenny King, deceased (Crystal) of Rochester, NY., Charles Randy King - Linda of Rochester, NY., William Roger King - Vikki of Dothan, AL., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special thanks to: Betty Ealey and Alicia Morris of Sunbridge, Enhabit Hospice, Vaughn Bloomberg Day Center and Jotoriya Wymes of Spectra Care Health Systems.
