Donail McHellon Sr. was born on June 13, 1946; to the late Ella Fair Jackson McHellon and Maynard Perry McHellon in Shorterville, Al. He was the oldest of 10 children the couple would share Donail moved to Dothan AL in 1969 where he would relocate his younger sisters and mother in 1973. While using his entrepreneurial skills he opened a shot house on the east side of town affectionately known as "Under The Tree" where he would become a well known and respected part of the community. In 2002 he would move his business to the west side of town known to many as "The Hill" where his business would continue to thrive until he closed the doors to retire in 2020. He was preceded in death his parents (Ella and Maynard Mchellon) his daughter (Samantha McHellon) The mother of children (Helen White, of Dani FL) one brother (Timonthy McHellon), one sister (Georgia Mchellon) one nephew (Domenick Perry McHellon). He leaves to cherish in his loving memory his Son Donail McHellon Jr (Gwen). His sisters; Cordelia McHellon, Ceclia McHellon Buffington, Rose Clark, Josephine Mchellon, Jessie McHellon Hawkins, Cindy Perry Benjamin, Dorthy McHellon. Two grandchildren Samantha McHellon, Lajuan Mchellon. Ten nieces; Roxanne Williams, Selena Roberts, Donyasha Moore (Louis Moore), Kantine McHellon, Simone Washington, Gabrille Davis, Ravon Buffington, Safari Dawkins, Brained Clark, Marquita McHellon, Cierra McHellon, Jazlynn Graham. Nine nephews Fletcher Alexander, Melvin Clark (Dr.Kaytronia Clark), Anthony Fleming(Loretta Fleming), Ivel Smith, Trycon McHellon, Travis McHellon, Maurice Clark, Justin Hawkins, Derrick Benjamin; also a host of great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. McHellon will be Saturday, September 21, 2024, 2:00 pm at Fowler Family Funeral Home (formerly Family First Funeral Care 965 Woodland Drive Dothan, Al 36301).  The family will  receive friends at the funeral home Friday, September 20, 2024,  3-4:30 pm.
