Donald Andrew Motes, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at his residence. He was 70.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 7, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Will Spivey officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10-11 am.
Mr. Motes was born on October 20, 1949 in Troy, Alabama and lived there the early years of his life. He joined the Air Force reserves and resided in Montgomery where he owned and operated several durable medical equipment companies for several years. Mr. Motes resided on 30-A in Santa Rosa Beach before moving to Dothan in 2014. He was full of life and never met a stranger. He will be remembered for always wearing lively colors and his passion for riding horses.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Motes; his daughter, Amanda Motes (Chris) Perry; his grandchild, Hunter Andrew Skelton; his sister, Helen (G. T.) Stewart; his faithful K9 companion, Lucky; his niece, Laura (Mike) Spivey and his nephew, Matt (Alicia) Leverette; several great nieces and nephews.
