DONALD AVIN SPIKES
HEADLAND. . .Donald Avin Spikes, a long time resident of Headland, died Friday morning, March 30, 2018, while visiting in Reynolds, Georgia. He was 64.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday, April 2, 2018, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Jean Spikes officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M Monday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 87, 545 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
Mr. Spikes grew up in Swainsboro, Georgia, son of the late Jack Avin Spikes and Jeanette Johnson Spikes. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era. Mr. Spikes was formerly employed by Alabama Electric as an Electrical Estimator.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Deborah (Dee) Alverson Spikes, Headland; a son, Dylan Wilson, Elba, AL; a sister, Terri Wilkerson (Glenn), Headland; two grandchildren, Christian Wilson and Madeline Jones; four aunts, Opal Spikes, Reverend Jean Spikes, Brunetta Brannon and Jewel Bowers.
