Donald Clyde Skipper

 

Tech Sgt. Donald Clyde Skipper (USAF Retired), 78, of Dothan, passed away July 28, 2012 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

 

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Free officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Cottonwood City Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to the Heart or Diabetes Association.

 

Mr. Skipper was born in Rehobeth, AL on April 21, 1934. He joined the Air Force in 1951 and retired in 1971. While in retirement, he farmed, worked at Sony and Pest-Ex. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Olene Skipper and a sister, Ellen Floyd (Louie).

 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dannye Grace Skipper of Dothan; two daughters, Reba Middleton (Bob) and Rita Babb (Joe), all of Dothan; four grandchildren, Tina Hunter (Sam), Eric Middleton (Fiancé, Kim Wallace), Kristina Treadaway (Fiancé, Ronnie Davis) and Tara Gibson (Justin); three great grandchildren, Grayson and Hayden Hunter, and Kamryn Davis; a sister, Melba Williams (Red), all of Dothan; a brother, Bobby Skipper (Barbara) of Victoria, TX; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
