 Donald Eagerton, of Jack (New Hope Community), passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019.  He was 83.


 


Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Mack King and Rev. Lanny Sheppard officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Thursday beginning at 10:00 and continuing until service time.


 


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to New Hope Cemetery Inc., 436 County Road 130, Jack, AL 36346.


 


Donald was born January 25, 1936, in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Clarence and Ruby Dismukes Eagerton.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He also retired after more than 30 years of Civil Service at Fort Rucker.  He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.


 


Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jean H. Eagerton of Jack (New Hope Community); three sons: Steve Eagerton (Pat) of Geneva, Greg Eagerton (Sallie) of Hoover, and Roger Eagerton (Renee) of the New Hope Community; four grandchildren: Ana Terpo (John David), Clay Eagerton (Rebekah), Katie Bekken (Mitchell), and Jonathan Eagerton; two step-grandchildren: Kelli Hall and Kaci Smith (Jason); seven step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.


 


The family thanks Kindred Hospice for their wonderful care of Donald.
