Donald Gene Trawick, a resident of Webb, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018. He was 64.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Womack officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 am-1 pm.
Donald was born on December 28, 1953 in Houston County and lived in Webb most of his life. He was a 1972 graduate of Dothan High School. Donald has been in the construction business since 1975 and was very talented, he could fix anything. He was a car enthusiast; his favorite car was his 1970 Z-28 Camaro. Donald loved drag racing and won several trophies. He was a very traditional husband, father, and family man, especially around the holidays. Donald loved family gatherings and anytime that he could spend with his beloved grandchildren. He was an athletic man and loved to watch Alabama football. Donald had grown attached to his son’s dog, Nellie Girl, who he spent a lot of time with.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, D. A. Trawick and Raddie Russell.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Cathy Trawick; his sons, Donald Trawick and Kris (Raechel) Trawick; his daughter, Elizabeth (John) Kelley; his 6 grandchildren, Cassie, Carlie, and Catie Kelley, Brantley, Ava, and Kristopher Trawick; his 2 sisters, Sonia (Bill) Morgan and Connie Lambert (Troy Bruner); his cousin, Garry Trawick; his special friend, Ritchie Rhodes; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Kris Trawick, Donald Trawick, John Kelley, Ritchie Rhodes, Bill Morgan, and Garry Trawick.
