Mr. Donald Jimmy Kelley, 79, of Geneva, AL passed away at Wiregrass Medical Center on February 10, 2015 at 2:40 p.m. with daughters, Donna and Joye at his side.
Mr. Kelley was born in Hollywood, CA on June 7, 1935 to James Thomas Kelley and Edna Louise Thompson Kelley from Geneva. After moving to Geneva at the age of three, Don attended elementary and high school where he graduated in 1953. After graduation he attended the University of Alabama majoring in business. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. While at the University of Alabama he met and married Martha Faye Gibson of Dothan.
Mr. Kelley served in the Alabama Army National Guard in Geneva. He was also owner of Auto-Sav of Geneva until his retirement.
Don enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing and spending time at the beach. He was also an avid Alabama fan.
Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his parents, Edna Louise Byrd, James Thomas Kelley and step-father, Fred M. Byrd as well as a loving aunt, Mary Lois Thompson. He is survived by daughters, Donna Kelley Faulk (Pratt) Crestview, FL and Joye Kelley Arbuckle (Andy) of Brentwood, TN; grandchildren, Natalie Tarra Wurst (Tony), Amanda Shea Faulk, and Adam Cornelius Faulk; great-grandchildren, Aubree Kelley Roach, Ethan Samuel Roach and Addison Claire Faulk.
Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Geneva on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Nathan Carroll officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Geneva High School Scholarship fund, 505 Panther Drive, Geneva, AL 36340.
